Eggs are one of the easiest foods to prepare. They are suitable for breakfast, dinner, or a quick snack during the day. Eggs can be cooked in many ways, including frying, boiling, scrambling, or combining them with vegetables and cheese. Although the recipe is simple, following a few basic steps helps produce eggs that are tender, flavorful, and properly cooked without becoming dry or burnt.
Ingredients
To prepare fried eggs for one person, you need two fresh eggs, one teaspoon of butter or cooking oil, a pinch of salt, and a little black pepper. You may also add tomato slices, sweet pepper, parsley, mushrooms, or cheese according to your preference. It is helpful to take the eggs out of the refrigerator a few minutes before cooking because eggs closer to room temperature tend to cook more evenly.
Preparation Steps
First, place a nonstick pan over medium heat. Add the butter or oil and wait until it becomes warm, but do not allow it to burn. Crack each egg into a small bowl before adding it to the pan. This makes it easier to check the egg and prevents pieces of shell from falling into the pan.
Leave the eggs to cook for about three to five minutes. If you prefer runny yolks, remove the eggs when the whites are firm and the yolks are still shiny. If you prefer firm yolks, cover the pan for another minute or carefully turn the eggs over. Add the salt and pepper near the end of cooking to help preserve the texture of the egg whites.

How to Boil Eggs
Boiling is another simple method and does not require oil. Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with cold water. Put the pan over medium heat. When the water begins to boil, reduce the heat and cook the eggs for about nine minutes if you want firm yolks, or approximately six minutes for softer yolks. Immediately place the cooked eggs in a bowl of cold water. This stops the cooking process and makes peeling easier. Once cooled, serve the eggs with bread and salt, or slice them over a salad.
Tips for Better Results
Use medium heat instead of high heat because strong heat can burn the edges before the inside is ready. Avoid moving the eggs too much if you want attractive sunny-side-up eggs. For scrambled eggs, beat the eggs in a bowl with a teaspoon of milk, pour them into the pan, and stir slowly until soft curds form. Add cheese or herbs just before removing the pan from the heat.
Wash your hands, utensils, and work surface after handling raw eggs. Store eggs in the refrigerator, and do not use an egg with an unusual smell or a badly cracked shell. Serve the eggs hot with bread, salad, or potatoes. You can garnish them with parsley or paprika. By controlling the heat and cooking time, a few simple ingredients can become a quick and delicious meal for the whole family.
